What are the benefits of soy?
Soy is one of the few plant foods that contain the proper balance of the eight essential amino acids. The key benefits are its excellent protein content, high levels of essential fatty acids, numerous vitamins and minerals, isoflavones and fiber. Soy is the only plant protein that is comparable in quality to milk, meat and eggs.
The health benefits of soy are endless! The FDA concluded that diets containing 25 grams of soy protein and are low in saturated fat can help decrease cholesterol levels. Numerous studies tie soy with helping reduce cholesterol, lower blood pressure in men, improve heart function, benefiting the hearts and bones of premenopausal women, and the prevention of some cancers.
